‘Oh, maybe I am hot?’

When most people describe their experience with being in front of the camera, comments usually consist of words such as awkward, uncomfortable or even terrifying. It takes a lot of bravery to get yourself there but once you’ve had a good experience, it almost becomes addictive. The self-confidence boost can be exciting. You might find yourself thinking: ‘Oh, maybe I am hot?,’ well hell yea you are!

I spoke to one of my models from a shoot we did a few weeks ago and her perception of how the shoot would go, sounded a lot like what I’ve just talked about:

“My expectations going into the shoot were that it would be awkward, I consider myself to be quite un-photogenic and I thought that I would look and feel awkward. On the contrary, Gabby made me feel so comfortable and confident that I was laughing by the end, and these are the moments she captured so beautifully! I didn’t feel awkward, I felt empowered and went home absolutely glowing!”

I’d like to think of myself as funny but in reality I have a quick wit for bad puns and a lot of…toilet humour. Sometimes the ladies on the sideline just know exactly how to get the laughter going, this is why I  offer the option of doing your shoot with friends. For some people it’s a lot easier to get comfy when you’ve got your besties by your side. My gorgeous model Holly recommends it:

“I would definitely recommend doing the photo shoot with friends if you are comfortable with that, as the whole event is a fun outing involving champagne and trying on cute outfits together! It also helps with the authenticity of your smiles, but in saying that, Gabby’s friendly and wonderful personality will make you feel at home and supported even if you don’t have friends with you!”

If you can lose the mindset that you’re un-photogenic and put your trust in me, I guarantee you’ll be stoked with the results! Nobody is un-photogenic, your tagged Facebook photos from family lunch don’t reflect your beauty, I promise.

“I was absolutely amazed by the photos Gabby took. As I mentioned before I consider myself to be quite un-photogenic and struggle to find my “good angles” so I had low expectations for the results. When I saw them I could have cried. I have never felt more beautiful and confident and sexy in my entire life. These are photos that I am pleased to share with my partner but more than that, pleased to have for myself in 50 years time, to be able to look back and think “damn I was beautiful”. I couldn’t have done it without Gabby’s guidance getting me into position and talent capturing me in the right light. I am so grateful!”

So, are you feeling a little more confident now? Check out the shoot options I have to offer and my portfolio if you want to get more insight.
