Embarking on a boudoir photoshoot can be a thrilling and empowering experience, but it's not uncommon for nerves to set in. I completely understand that stepping out of your comfort zone may feel daunting, and want to assure you that your comfort is top priority. Let me put you at ease as we delve into some of the common concerns surrounding a boudoir session.

“I have body image issues”

It's natural to have reservations about being in front of the camera, especially when it comes to showcasing your body. Not to sound cliche but I believe that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. My goal is to capture your unique essence and to show you the beauty you may not see when looking in the mirror. All bodies deserve to be celebrated!

“I’m scared of being vulnerable”

Boudoir photography is an intimate experience that requires a level of vulnerability. It's okay to feel nervous about expressing yourself in front of the lens. My shoots are a judgment-free space where you can be yourself. There is no expectation to fully reveal your body, you might be more comfortable spending the entire shoot in a robe. There is also no shame in saying ‘I’m here and I wanna get naked’ - you set the tone.

“I don’t have the body of a model”

Every client I have shot with has brought along some kind of insecurity. I worked in a piercing studio for long enough to see just about every body type, from ears and noses, to nipples and vulvas - your asymmetrical boobs will not phase me!

“I suffer from anxiety and may not show up feeling as confident as I was in pre-shoot communication”

Anxiety is not new to me - I understand the mental and physical feelings it can bring. Doing something like a boudoir shoot may be a step in facing your anxiety and I think that’s incredibly brave. Don’t feel awkward about showing that you’re anxious, I want to do everything I can to make you comfortable and give you the rewarding experience you came for.

“I don’t know how to pose”

Not everyone is a natural model, and that's perfectly fine. I am experienced in guiding my clients through poses that suit their comfort levels and compliment their bodies. Communication is a high priority, you have the space to express any concerns or preferences, ensuring that the session feels collaborative and enjoyable. I encourage you to relax, be yourself, and trust my expertise. I want to capture your authentic self in a way that makes you feel confident and empowered.

“This feels like a bit much - I don’t know if i want to give myself the spotlight”

A boudoir shoot is a declaration that you deserve to be seen, appreciated, and celebrated. This is not ‘too much.’ Each line, curve, and nuance of your being is a testament to your individuality, and it's high time you step into the spotlight that is rightfully yours. This is an opportunity to embrace your journey, acknowledge your resilience, and revel in the confidence that radiates from within. I say, let the spotlight shine on you!

“I don’t feel comfortable but my partner really wants me to do this”

If this is your situation, I want to remind you that this is 100% your choice. I believe the decision to do a boudoir shoot should be rooted in a desire for empowerment. If your heart isn’t in it - this isn’t for you. I encourage you to reach out if this is something you are dealing with - I’d be happy to chat, I always offer judgment-free space.
